The Nature of Man (Body, Soul, Spirit), Part 3
In the last post in this series I wrote about the sure reality of an immaterial, supernatural part of man that continues on after the death of the body. Those who argue that soul is merely life-force that dies with the flesh do so against the Scriptures. However, I really haven’t touched on the differences (if any) between soul and spirit, except to give definitions of the words. Hopefully you will remember that “soul” has lower and higher meanings, but that “spirit” only has the higher meaning (see Part 2 in this series, below). In its lower meanings, soul is an individual, life, heart/mind, dreams, etc. In its higher meaning it is identical in meaning to spirit, i.e. the invisible part of man that “lives” on after death. Bro. Kieth Parker, evangelist, will be with us on Fri-Sun, August 21-23 conducting our fall revival/gospel meeting. He’ll speak to us Friday & Saturday evenings and at 10:00 & 11:00 am, & 1:30 pm on “Super” Sunday. We’ll have a fellowship meal after morning services.

Faith & Finance Seminar with bro. Jim Palmer

Brother Jim Palmer, co-editor of Think Magazine, and regular conductor of Faith and Finance Seminars will be with us May 1, 2, & 3, 2009. He will speak Friday evening, twice on Saturday, and teach Bible class and preach on “Super” Sunday morning. There will be a fellowship meal after morning services on Sunday.
