Memorize (and Practice) the Golden rule
Again, this week, I want to encourage us to memorize Scriptures by presenting another very important passage. This week’s passage is another great “saying of Jesus.” It is the passage often called the Golden Rule. There is only one rule more important, and that is the command to love God. When we live out our relationships by following the Golden Rule, we have done the very best that can be done to be a godly friend, spouse, parent, brother, or acquaintance. It also deserves mentioning that nothing has the power to influence positive change in the lives of others than our acting toward them in the way prescribed by the Golden Rule. The ESV renders the passage as follows:
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Mat 7:12 ESV). Read more

Continuing with a few weeks of encouraging us to memorize scriptures, the selection for this week is a single verse, the first of Matthew 6. It is simple, but a profound statement of an important aspect of the mind of Christ, and thus is an integral pillar of the Christian faith.

TOTALLY FREE CAR WASH
This Friday, July 24, is our “TOTALLY FREE CAR WASH” sponsered by the youth ministry at Highland Heights. You just bring your car, and we will wash it for free. NO DONATIONS ACCEPTED OR TAKEN!!!! We want to show our love for you with a totally free act of kindness. Our “TOTALLY FREE CAR WASH” begans at noon and will continue through 5:30 pm. We hope to wash every car in Smyrna, TN, including yours!!!!
