Our ladies are wanting to host our first Ladies Day. We are a very small congregation, but that is not stopping us. I was searching for themes online and came across yours of FOCUS. Is there any information or tips you would share with us?
We have a speaker in mind that we would like to book, Jane Maynard.
We would greatly appreciate any information.

My advice to you Terri is to first of all pray for the event, then form a team of willing ladies, divide up into committees with a committee leader for each. Advertise in the local papers and send out initiations to all local congregations and invite friends and neighbors who are not Christians. Be positive about everything you do. Do choose a theme. That really seems to help. Also, making it simple really seems to help. Go to other ladies’ days nearby - support them and learn. May God bless all your efforts.

I, too, am planning a ladies day at our church. We are small but still want to have ladies day. Can you suggest a theme or any ideas that we can use? I have never done this before. Thank you. Jean

    This is from my wife:
“When mentioning ‘themes,’ I assume for decorating purposes. That said, I have seen all types of ladies’ days (small to large). It really depends on need and taste. I have seen just simple decorations at each table that was seasonal, I’ve seen every table decorated differently, known by some as ‘Festival of Tables,’ I’ve seen the tables decorated in accordance with the topic of the day, etc.

If the term ‘theme’ is not in regards to decorating, I have been to many ladies’ days and they all vary. Again, just according to need and taste of the congregation. Some choose to have an author come and speak, some have a lady from their own congregation speak, and some have a sister from another congregation come and speak. Topics have been as different as the decorating ideas above: Former nun telling of her conversion, Proper apparel for a Christian woman (all things being spiritual things, not articles of clothing), authors speaking based upon things they speak about and you choose the topic you think would be good to hear, women’s role in the church, etc.”

As with any and every “event” in the church (concerning men, women or children), pray about it, make sure it is Scriptural, figure out the needs of the targeted audience, and go from there.

May God bless your efforts, and if you’re anywhere close to us at Highland, send us an invitation.

So excited for you all! What a wonderful way to encourage and uplift the ladies. Prayer is definitely the first step. A great website is http://www.creativeladiesministry.com although it is not a COC website there are some great ideas under themes that might serve as a launching point. Our congregation had our first Ladies Day 2 years ago and we decided to use speakers from our own congregation for the first year. It was a such a blessing because they were women we already knew. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you for posting my need for theme ideas for a Ladies Day program on your website. I also need some ideas for a theme for our Mother-Daughter Luncheon in June. The theme we are thinking about is “Cherished Memories”. I have been on http://www. creativeladiesministry.com. I looked at the one they suggest but would really like something else, if possible. I appreciate any help or suggestions you can give me.
    Thank you
    Jean
