In 1962, a group of dedicated Christians came together under the banner of being “Christians Only” and under the authority of Holy Scripture alone. They began meeting in a local school and eventually bought a piece of property and built a worship facility on South Lowry Street in Smyrna. That group of Christians named their congregation the Highland Heights Church of Christ.
This year, 2012, marks the 50th anniversary of the Highland Heights Church of Christ. In the past 50 years, many have been taught, converted, baptized and brought into God’s family; thousands have been helped with food, clothing and shelter; thousands around the globe have heard the gospel proclaimed by missionaries supported by the church at Highland Heights.
It is our prayer that God has been glorified by the work done by this family. This year, 2012, we are having a year-long celebration of God’s blessings on our family at Highland Heights. We are calling this “2012 – The Year of Jubilee”. We are basing our celebration around God’s prescription to the Israelites in Leviticus 25 where every 50 years they celebrated God’s blessings through the “Jubilee”.
Come join us as we celebrate 50 years of God’s blessings upon us and resolve to serve Him greater in the next 50 years. We would love to have you be a part of our celebration.
